Something like this is very appealing. Especially after all of the travel shows and magazines I have been watching and reading lately. Yep, this will do.

So, watched the entire first season of this show on Netflix yesterday. Anyone out there seen this show on VBS? It's essentially two Korean-Americans traveling the US but they can only travel in free transportation, so hitchhiking, raft, train hopping, etc. It's weird, hilarious, informative and kind of gross. Now we're just waiting for the next 2 seasons to become available. Go here to find out more information on the show.

Sunday Documentary

Not sure how this has become a weekly posting, but we seem to always watch a ton of documentaries on Sundays. Blood Into Wine is the story of how Maynard James Kennan, lead singer of Tool, and his partner/mentor Eric Glomski have managed to create 3 successful wine labels out of literally nothing in the desert of Arizona. It's seriously funny and incredibly informative and insightful. Click here to watch the trailer.

Another fantastic design magazine has recently popped up, Lonny Magazine. They have a wonderful site as well where one can look through images, pick up items from their Etsy shop or flip through their magazine. After the loss of Domino, Blueprint and others it is very exciting to see more and more design magazines being printed. Check out Lonny here.

weekend of documentaries

All three of these documentaries were excellent. I especially recommend The Parking Lot Movie to anyone who currently works or has worked in the service industry, you'll totally connect with these guys.

Great article from The New Yorker on the evolution of dessert and it's future. Yum.

gone with the times?

How many times have I read this book? At least a dozen. Rohan Maitzen has read it 20 times and examines why she always goes back to it and if she will again in her essay, "Against the Wind." Really an eye opener.
