Indie Wed was a HUGE success and I am so happy I got to be a part of it this year! Kelly, of Paper Stories, did such a fantastic job and I hope she lets me help at the next event! Thanks Kelly!

Valentine's is getting closer! What better way to start your love-filled day than with a cup of coffee in this adorable mug?! Check out Gretel here to pick up other gorgeous little items.

there is hope

Another fantastic design magazine has recently popped up, Lonny Magazine. They have a wonderful site as well where one can look through images, pick up items from their Etsy shop or flip through their magazine. After the loss of Domino, Blueprint and others it is very exciting to see more and more design magazines being printed. Check out Lonny here

made in the USA

Great (reasonably priced) vintage light fixtures from Schoolhouse Electric. I can't pick just one, I want them all!

no good?

I have the new Steve Martin book, The Object of Beauty, at home waiting in line to be read. However, I just read this review from The New Republic online and he was less than impressed. Hmmm....I really loved Shop Girl, so I will give this a chance and see what the fuss is about. (Image via the Portland Phoenix)

red + gray = loveliness for my bedroom

This new bedding from DwellStudio would look so very nice in our bedroom. This is from their soon to be available collection, but click here to view their current lovely offerings. (Image via Design*Sponge)

I just adore this linen pillow. So simple, but the gold really takes it up a notch. Check out other lovely products here at Alder and Co.

no, no and no

This is so not ok. A group of Republicans are trying to eliminate the National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Click here for the NY Times article.

must stop online shopping

What a perfect tee for Valentine's Day! Love EmersonMade. She is just brilliant.

And...I'm pretty certain that I am going to need this Linen Topper Coat. Um, yes. Definitely.

gotta love Etsy

Isn't this beautiful? Kind of dreamy with a little Hopper mixed in...I like. Check out more of Lisa's work here

weekend of documentaries

All three of these documentaries were excellent. I especially recommend The Parking Lot Movie to anyone who currently works or has worked in the service industry, you'll totally connect with these guys.

that's dessert?

Great article from The New Yorker on the evolution of dessert and it's future. Yum.

this just gets me

Discovered this blog, Things Organized Neatly, a couple weeks ago. Totally appeals to my inner organizer.

Watched this over the holidays and fell totally in love. A beautiful film. Swinton is just lovely.

Very cool (and interactive!) article on the Met's restoration of Velázquez's portrait of Philip IV.

clean and crisp

Love the color and pattern of these towels. Kinda want a shirt and maybe a few pillows out of this fabric...click here for other lovely French items.

Wow. Unbelievable work from Kalle Gustafsson.

Very excited to be volunteering at the Indie Wed show this year! "Indie Wed caters to not only unconventional couples who are taking a more modern, edgy, or eco-friendly approach to their special day but also the more conservative couples who simply want to add some special touches." Come check it out Saturday, January 29th from 10am to 4pm. For more info click here

Who knew Threadless had art prints? I kinda need this print for our apartment...

gone with the times?

How many times have I read this book? At least a dozen. Rohan Maitzen has read it 20 times and examines why she always goes back to it and if she will again in her essay, "Against the Wind." Really an eye opener.

the Selby is in the Spade home

Love the Spades. Love their home. Visit The Selby to view more photos of their lovely home.

but, I can think of so many uses for this Marine Canvas Duffle bag from Warwick. Check it out via the superb men's style site, Selectism.

ugh, Jerry Saltz...

The picture says enough, but this is a great article by James Panero about the art critic/monster that is Jerry Saltz.
